Purpose
Do you have what it takes to be an entrepreneur? Every business venture begins with an idea. A determined entrepreneur is willing to take the necessary risks to see their venture succeed.
Venture Development is for everyone who has an interest in starting their own business. It builds upon the concepts and ideas studied in Business Innovations 10S. Students will focus the majority of their time on planning, creating, implementing, evaluating, and growing a business venture. |
Evaluation
10% - Self-Assessments: Student self-checked work.
50% - Assignments and Projects: Assigned and graded regularly. 40% - Major Project: Application of entrepreneurship venture development principles and concepts. |
Due Dates and Final Deadline Dates
You will be given suggested deadlines for assignments and projects, to encourage responsibility and assist with time management. Assignments and projects may be submitted to me in any order; however, all assignments and projects must be submitted to me no later than the final scheduled deadline day. Assignments, projects, and tests not submitted by the final deadline day will be assigned a grade of zero.
To avoid plagiarism: please note that depending on the nature of assignments and projects, work that has not been submitted by the time other student’s work has been marked and returned will not be accepted and an alternate assignment/project will need to be completed. Plagiarism and cheating on any work, including assignments, projects, and tests is unacceptable and will result in a grade of zero. If a student copies another student’s work, both of the students will receive a grade of zero.

Attendance and Puctuality
You are expected to attend class and be on time. Attendance and punctuality are mandatory and extremely necessary for success in the course. Remember that most learning occurs inside the classroom. If you are absent, you are responsible for finding out what work you missed and for completing that work on your own time. Classwork, assignments, projects, tests, etc., are all posted on my web site.
Cell Phone and Electronic Device Usage
Please do not bring personal electronic devices to class (keep them in your locker). If you choose to bring them to class, remember to keep devices turned off and/or silent. Personal devices must be kept away at all times (out of sight). I will give you my undivided attention, and I expect the same from you.
